SPACE INVASION
Created in 2020 by gallery owner Fabienne Levy, the Space Invasion program was born from a desire to provide a platform for emerging artists. Open to all students from visual arts schools in Switzerland, Space Invasion offers selected candidates the opportunity to understand the challenges of gallery exhibitions: from project conception to implementation, including costs and development. Often unprepared for their entry into the art market, Fabienne Levy wanted to give students the chance to familiarize themselves with an exhibition space and the way it is run, as well as help them communicate and explain their work to the public and collectors. All sales proceeds go to the students, and the gallery covers part of the production costs of the artworks.
Each exhibition is governed by a given theme around which applicants submit their artistic proposals. In connection with the issues of our current society, the students reflect on and express themselves on relevant and contemporary themes. By confronting themselves to these different themes, they explore and question the world around them, offering new and critical perspectives through their creations.
For Fabienne Levy, culture should be accessible to everyone, and art should be a catalyst for social change, inviting everyone to see the world with a new perspective. Space Invasion aims not only to give a voice to young artists but also to engage the public in meaningful dialogues about the issues of our time.

Crée en 2020 par la galeriste Fabienne Levy, le programme Space Invasion est né de la volonté d’offrir une plateforme aux artistes émergeant·e·s. S’adressant à tous les étudiant·e·s en écoles d’arts visuels de Suisse, Space Invasion donne l’opportunité aux candidat·e·s sélectionné·e·s de découvrir les enjeux de l’exposition artistique en galerie : de la conception du projet à sa mise en place, en passant par les coûts et le développement. Souvent peu préparé·e·s à leur arrivée sur le marché de l’art, Fabienne Levy a souhaité donner aux étudiant·e·s la possibilité de se familiariser avec un espace d’exposition et son fonctionnement, ainsi que les aider à communiquer et expliquer leur travail au public et aux collectionneurs. La totalité des ventes revient aux artistes et la galerie prend à sa charge une partie des coûts de production des œuvres.
Chaque exposition est régie par un thème imposé autour duquel les candidat·e·s soumettent leurs propositions artistiques. En lien avec les enjeux de notre société actuelle, les étudiant·e·s réfléchissent et s’expriment sur des thèmes pertinents et contemporains. En se confrontant à ces différents thèmes, ils explorent et questionnent le monde qui les entoure, offrant des perspectives nouvelles et critiques à travers leurs créations.
Pour Fabienne Levy, la culture doit être ouverte à tous, et l’art un catalyseur de changements sociaux, invitant chacun à voir le monde sous un angle nouveau. Space Invasion vise non seulement à donner une voix aux jeunes artistes, mais aussi à engager le public dans des dialogues autour des problématiques de notre temps.
